The Epilogue -
A game in which your adventure begins as soon as The Hero's ends. In this game, the usual antics that are expected in other RPG adventures don't fly as well in this world.
After the end of the final boss, The Hero exits the evil lair to find -not a crowd of adoring fans, but a messenger serving a court summons. The Hero is informed that they are the subject of a class action lawsuit for their actions during the quest to 'save' the kingdom. After arriving in court and being sentenced to undo their "heroic deeds", The Hero must assume tasks such as returning sacred weapons to shrines that were unknowingly desecrated; compensating for belongings that were taken from kingdom residences; and effectively undoing all of the deeds that they unlawfully performed during their self-ordained "mission of good".
As players progress in righting the wrongs of The Hero, there are demonic forces that are working as process servers that are actively seeking The Hero with the intent of serving them subpoenas to appear in court for judgement. (Hey, evil forces need jobs too and they're out of a job after what happened to their last employer, but one thing at a time.) To combat these summons, The Hero must forfeit bits of the fortune that they amassed in their adventure to pay for a legal defense
team of creatures to stall the judgement. players will have to weigh their options in choosing to send different RPG-famous creatures with varying specialties to combat the specifics of each individual case that is brought up by a new plaintiff. Depending on the legal representation, it can get very costly, very quickly.
However, there's only so much treasure one adventurer can collect. Once that runs out, The Hero will be forced to return to the life of squalor and struggle they had managed to escape during the origin of their adventure. So it's a race against time, and legal processing procedures to see what hope and fortune The Hero of the story is truly allowed to keep in The Epilogue.
